General Information
“Luxurious Amenities”
The property provides luxurious amenities to a group of guests who want to interact with each other as they experience African wildlife. Staff dedicated to the guests in the property, led by the property manager himself provide the best service we’ve ever had, bar none. The rooms are tastefully decorated with authentic African artefacts and provide everything one can imagine spread across multiple adjoining areas, culminating in a bath tub that is surrounded by its own private garden. Exceptional food prepared by the resident chef Emily, who takes the experience to the highest levels without overcomplicating flavours, enduring that the quality of the ingredients shines through. Portion sizes are not too large and the variety stores all tastes. Our group includes very seasoned travelers with widely differing previous experiences who have been all over Africa, and we all agreed that Okonjima Villa provides the best African Bush experience anyone has ever had.”
Exceeded Expectations
“Exceeded expectations, it was just perfect I would highly recommend, staff were just lovely and the Villa was very spacious and Luxury with a great view over the watering hole. The food was absolutely delicious they catered for all needs and the game drives were awesome we saw leopards, zebras, rhinos, hyenas, antelopes and more. We really liked going to see the conservation program that they are running, it was very interesting and we even got to see rescued cheetahs which had a huge space to roam around. I was really impressed with how some of the money made from the villa go back into conversation of the native wildlife. Special thanks to Tobias for looking after us so well and Emily for her wonderful food, you guys really made our stay so special.”
Super Accommodation
“Superior accommodations in a surreal setting on the Okonjima Nature Reserve. This elegant villa is appointed with every amenity to be enjoyed, including a full staff who go above and beyond to fulfill every need, want and expectation of their guests.”
First & Best
“The accommodation in Okonjima was the first on our road trip. We were very impressed by both the accommodation and the super-friendly staff. The food on a large table was excellent. There was even mint from our own garden. There were four other guests there besides us. Very exclusive, very personal. The game drives were indescribable. We were lucky enough to see a leopard after the hunt. The sunsets, relaxing by the pool, all the delicious little things that were served to us every day. The start of our vacation couldn’t have been better. Comfortable beds, large windows with a view of the park, friendly staff and indescribable game drives (Thank you Josuu!) We would like to come back a third time!
Thanks!”

The Okonjima Experience
Spanning 220km² of undulating acacia , mountainous outcrops, and riverine thickets, the Okonjima Nature Reserve serves as a thriving habitat for leopard (Panthera pardus), known for their remarkable adaptability among wild cats.
AfriCat takes pride in maintaining one of Namibia’s longest-running leopard monitoring projects.

These intelligent, solitary predators thrive in high concentrations across the diverse terrain of the Okonjima Nature Reserve. Over the course of three decades, the reserve’s predator research programme has yielded profound insights into leopard behavioural patterns, offering an optimistic outlook for their sustainable future in modern Africa.
A minimum two-day stay at Okonjima, provides the prime opportunity to witness wild leopards in their natural habitats, including those collared for research purposes.
Researched leopard are actively tracked, and their collars prove invaluable in locating and safely returning cats that have ventured into surrounding farmland, where they might be perceived as a threat to livestock.
Situated within the rugged commercial farmlands of central Namibia, the expansive Okonjima Nature Reserve stands as a protected expanse that embodies a diverse ecosystem, encompassing both large and small mammals native to Namibia. Additionally, a significant proportion of the country’s endemic bird species finds refuge within these borders.
Visitors can partake in game drives and guided bush walks, offering an intimate and up-close encounter with Namibia’s wildlife, particularly its most guarded species.
Within the Okonjima Nature Reserve, extensive research initiatives are conducted concerning rare and endangered species, both large and small.
